For the last few months my life really has been very random.  My road trip south, my recent road trip north and today I am blogging from an hour west of where I usually live.

Some friends of friends own this beautiful 170 acre property with a huge lake on it.  It has been a few different things over the last three decades and today the wife runs it as a casual campground/farm stay kind of place.  I had been to the property once before today.

Turns out that the owners Mum passed away and they needed someone to look after the place for a week and somehow they thought of me.  I’m guessing they asked everyone else they know and I was the last option on the list.  When they called me they had intentions of cancelling all the bookings but I said, that would be a shame for everyone who booked, I’m sure I can handle it.  So, after an early start I am sitting at the check in desk (they have Starlink).  It is a fantastic place, the lake is amazing and so far all the campers have been really nice.

One of the coolest things is that come Monday, all the campers leave and I have the entire property, and the lake all to myself for a few days.

Anyone up for a speedo party?

I think I’m going to do a big of speedo kayaking once the campers leave…..
