I don’t know what it is but waking up, walking into my kitchen and seeing the ocean 50m away (maybe a little more, maybe a little less – I should measure it actually) with the sun rising over the horizon is such a beautiful way to start the day.
This winter I have been pretty slack at getting to the pool. I’ve still been going at least once a week but not as much as I should be going. There is no excuse – although the pool is outside it is heated and in winter I pretty much always get a lane to myself.
Today I promise to get to the pool and bang out some laps.
Hey – Kip has been playing around with some domains and re-routing some stuff (for obvious reasons). If you are seeing any errors when looking at the blog let me know – I couldn’t see some images yesterday but it was my cache.
Back in summer someone told me about a Swimming Watch that counts laps – I’m pretty sure it was over on the SwimmerSexuality.com forum.
One of the things that does annoy me is counting laps when I’m swimming – I keep loosing count. I’ve been enjoying my running recently because I don’t have to think about it and can let my mind wander on different things. So often when I’m lap swimming I’m too busy trying to concentrate on how far I’ve swam.
Anyways – after some discussion on the SwimmerSexuality.com forum, I did some more of my own research and I bought the ‘Swimmate’. I’ve been using for the last couple of months and been meaning to tell you guys about it – it is awesome!!!! I don’t know how it works but you punch in how long the pool is, hit start and then when you are done, it tells you how many laps and how far you’ve gone.
I’m sure there is other stuff on it but that is all I wanted it for.
I don’t make any money from this plug and I bought the watch myself (it was like US$80 I think) but I thought I’d share this with you guys. Just Google ‘swimmate’ – it looks like this.
I was at the pool yesterday there are these two guys that I see there a little bit. They must work nearby and go to the pool during their lunch break or something.
They are both late 20’s maybe early 30’s, not super models but reasonably fit and I have no reason to think they are gay. It kinda seems like they are work mates who are doing a triathlon or something together.
Anyways, the funny thing is that one guy always wears a speedo, and his mate always wears boardies.
The guy wearing speedos seems just as comfortable and since they are lap swimming it makes much more sense. I have been hoping that maybe peer pressure will work on the guy wearing boardies and he will be a speedo convert.
