I agree squarecuts on the right guy are hot – even hotter than speedos which are hot. Love to see you in your squares.

Dave- I love the square cuts. I have a pair of AussieBum Leagues. I think they look great on and wear them more then my speedos.

It is an awesome look there is no denying that but I was wondering if you guys find they ‘bunch’ up around your crotch?

This happens to me a little bit – maybe I have a size too small.

If I could wear them like these guys I’d wear them a lot more and have more in my wardrobe I’m sure.

I love squarecuts, they turn me on so much than usual speedos.
It makes you look hunk and the turn line make me crazy…

For me, all my swimwares and underwares are squarecuts!! (bit fanatic)

PS: I’m so glad you brought them in your blog.

Would you really consider the first one you posted in this group squarecut? I think it’s more of a brief cut with lengthy sides (3″ or even possibly 4″); those type of styles (which are reminiscent of things from the 60s) have been making a comeback over the last few years, which is fine by me, because they tend to flatter me better.

As for actual squarecuts and the like, I have tons of them, and they do tend to work on someone like me a bit better. Speedos are great, I think, for showing off the lower abs and particularly highlighting the hips (and, well, making one’s package more prominent–even if it isn’t an “enhancing” style–less fabric to fill = looking like it’s more filled!), and if one’s got the body to wear them, then by all means one should (or even if not–because, hey, it’s much more fun to do that!); but the squarecuts you have shown here can work with guys who aren’t quite as toned and trim as all that. I speak from personal experience here…those “James Bond” ones that AussieBum is putting out now that you have pictured above (the original is by Grigio Perla, and are super expensive, but Tulio also has a knock-off for a bit less, of which I own one) can look quite good on almost anyone, provided they’re not hugely overweight, etc.

Incidentally, as to the “crotch-bunching” issue: I’ve not found that too much with most of mine. Though, I do have an AussieBum one from a few years back that is the same rather non-stretchy nylon material from which many of their suits are made (including, if I’m not mistaken, your beloved Portseas!), and of all the suits I have, they’re probably one of the least flattering and comfortable ones I own. The stretchiness and give of lycra helps considerably with this, I think, since the nylon just ends up having a bunch of extra fabric. If you’re wet all the time, I’m sure it clings nicely to things (!), but apart from that, it wouldn’t be quite as nice. Lycra squarecuts don’t have that problem as much, at least as far as my own experience is concerned. One does have to re-adjust the legs from time to time, but that’s about all.
