SLCSP – I’ve decided that the official staff party is all that I’m going to talk about today. Work today was pretty cruisy – they opened up one of the chair lifts for us to clean out all the safety barriers – it had slowed about 40cms since they closed the resort on Sunday afternoon and with that in mind I can’t believe they were paying me to ski all this deep pow. It was a bit heavy but definitely can’t complain.
Anyways – I’ve got so much to write and I want to get it down property. OK the staff party – the SLCSP. So I was staying with Carlan and his family on Sunday night after the race. On Monday morning I caught a bus to another Okangan town (sorry guys – wanna keep some kind of privacy). Brad and Lauren had a place organized to Monday night – just some motel and it had a couple of double beds so they knew I was staying with them. I was there earlier then them and checked in no probs.
After checking in around 10 (yes I know that is early – but there isn’t much happening in the Okanagan on the first Monday in April) I went for a walk.and ran into Brian and his house (Brian lived with 3 other people that he knew as well as I did – which wasn’t much). They were staying at the same motel that Brad had organized so I ended up giving them a hand carrying all their stuff the 2 blocks to the motel. Once they were in we left for the golf course.
Golf itself sucked. The told us no alcohol on the course – I had my trusty bottle of Scotch and water bottle in my back pack so no problems there but since nobody else shares my foresight it is kinda lonely drinking alone.
After the 9 holes of golf (which I’m not that good at as it is) we had dinner put on by the company. It was kind of a flop as well and we called Lauren (Lauren doesn’t work for the Lift Company so wasn’t allowed to play her 9 holes). She picked up 7 of us in her (and Brads tiny Chrysler). We rocked back to the motel and started drinking.
And that was about 7pm.
Man – I write a lot. Tomorrow I will tell you what happened at about 10pm just before we left to leave the motel for town.

Ow my god – I have been wanting to post for the last 24hrs or so now and now that I’m here the words are coming far too fast for this new keyboard of mine.
I’ll go through it in steps – if it takes a few days – that is OK because the resort is closed and I’m going to have nothing to talk about for a couple of days.
1. The Sea to Ski (www.Ski2Sea.ca)
We did OK – the other volunteer patrollers aren’t as young as I am so to be expected we finished in the middle of the pack. I obviously need some more training and again finished quite average compared to the other people doing my leg. Was a fun day – the race finished at the lake with the final leg being a canoe and when the canoe team finish (there are 2 people in the canoe) the entire team (which in our team there were 8) have to carry the canoe over the finish line. We ended up kicking back to the pub for a few and I stayed with the first other patroller that I met when I started work – Carlan. Carlan has a place in town and drives up on his days to work so crashing at his place was easy.
Well that was the boring part of the trip – the SLCSP was OK – I’ll tell you about it but the awesome – no EPIC is the right word (I know this is the second time I’ve used the word EPIC in a week but this is truly EPIC). I’m really exhausted and don’t think that I can do the other 2 parts to my ‘weekend away’ justice yet.
Nothing is happening over the next couple of days so I’ll see what I can break up over the next 2 days.

Holy fuck – I haven’t even officially started my blog – I’m offline now so I’m only writing it in MS Word and I’m already at six pages!!!!
Well yesterday was a bit of a nothing day. I got up around 10am. Went for a ski which wasn’t really that enjoyable with the hangover that I was suffering. It was my turn to cook for Brad and Lauren so I cooked up my ‘world famous’ fish potato bake. I’m not quite ready to reveal its secrets on this blog but I’m sure one day it will come out.
Was a quite night and since I cooked I didn’t have to clean (those are the house rules). I ended up back at my place around 8pm. Did some work on the Site and here I am 3hrs later.
Tomorrow is the Ski to Sea race at a neighbour ski resort which I am competiting in (www.Ski2Sea.ca). Some of the other volunteers have put a team together and I’m doing the road biking leg – I wish I was doing the alpine ski leg myself but ow well. I’m to tired to explain the race so if you are interested check out the official website and you will see the leg that I am doing.
Time for bed I think. Tomorrow is a HUGE day. The first of two (Monday is the SLCSP). I probably won’t post for a couple of days because I’ll be in town. Talk to you later guys.
