Just a quick post to let you know that after a HUGE day of driving I’m in Florence, Oregon.
The coastline today was gorgeous – although not really a ‘speedo coastline’ being so rugged.
I spoke to my friends from Portland and they told me that I could stay at their holiday home in Seaside if I wanted so I think tomorrow I might drive up there (no too far I’m told) and spend at least one night.
Any speedo friends in Seaside?
I’m off to find some chinese takeout for dinner.

That’s one of the difficulties of this region of the world (i.e. the Northwestern U.S. and southwestern Canada): year round, the water is about the same temperature, i.e. way too cold to swim in without some degree of protection.
That having been said, have you ever done a “Polar Bear” dip or anything of the kind? They have various ones in this area on New Year’s Day–Seattle and some of the lakes north of it–and while I’ve not done one yet, I’d like to at some point. They tend to be Speedo-friendly events, interestingly enough!

Since there is no reference in today’s post to the picture I’ll give some.
The Guy on the left in the picture is Lachlan Harris – he’s the ex Media Advisor to the then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. (Lachlan was part of the inner circle).
The guy on the right is Alex Kearns, a famous chef in Sydney that runs two restaurants and has a few “hats” (the restaurant that is).
Lachlan is also the guy who started the swimwear brand Budgy Smuggler in Australia.
Both the guys went to school together.

Thanks for the info there, luke!
Strangely enough, the phrase “budgie smuggler” was going about my head earlier today…I hadn’t noticed the logo on the hats consciously, but who knows? 😉
