These are stories of my travels – or stories of while I am travelling.
This is my first update from Queenstown.
After the 6hr drive south we arrived here last night around 6pm. We grabbed some fish and chips and ate that in our hotel rooms – I’m sharing a room with Tony and Michael (the two Aussie boys) and Simon and Evan (the english lads) are in the room next door.
Our room has 2 double beds so last night I slept next to Tony (only really because we were all just soo drunk we died by the time we got home). Unforunately nothing naughty happened.
Despite our hangover we got up on Coronet Peak this morning pretty early. Tomorrow we are going to ski the Remarkables which I’m told is a bit more hardcore – I haven’t snowboarded on either of these mountains before.
I think tonight we will go a little easier on the grog….
I’ve got wireless in the hotel so I’ve been checking on some stuff for the last half hour. I think we are about to head down to the hottub so it is speedo time!!! Should be interesting to see how my speedos go down.
Here is a pic that one of the readers of this blog emailed me which is pretty hard hot.
Well I’ve spend the last couple of hrs getting stuff ready for the road trip to Queenstown.
I’ve filled the car up with petrol, I actually cleaned the inside, I waxed up my snowboard, I shaved my pubes (hehehe) and I’m just about to pack my bag.
The hotel I’m staying at (click here to see their website) has a communal hottub as well as 2 ‘private’ hottubs which you can rent for 45 minutes.
Can you guess what my plan is?
So I’m not going to pack my dork shorts (board shorts) and just pack speedos. I’ll pack enuf for all 5 of us and see how it goes.
I’m taking my laptop so I’m sure I’ll be able to get some wireless somewhere to keep you guys up to date with what is happening.
Miserable day in town today but I’ve had a good enuf day.
Sat in bed working from 9 this morning until now – with the occasional trip for more coffee/oj. Then I got a knock on the door (I had to rush to put on some pants – I was only wearing the black speedos that I wore to bed). Although maybe I shouldn’t have done that and just answered the door in my speedos.
It was Tony from next door – the four guys were off work today (the mountain is closed because of too much wind) and were heading down to the pub to shoot some pool or darts and wanted to know if I would come down.
I met them down there a quarter of an hour later.
Just mucking around and the boys are doing a road trip down to Queenstown (about 5 – maybe 6 hours south of here) for some skiing and partying and wanted to know if I wanted to come along.
HELL YEAH!!!!
So I’m going to Queenstown this weekend – we are leaving Friday and the boys were going to take their car BUT my car (which is 10 years old) is a little better maintained and being a station wagon has a bit more room for 5 boys.
We are staying at the Queenstown lodge which I just found out has a hot tub – ow I can’t wait to get these boys and particularly Tony in there. We have a two bedroom room with 1 double bed and 2 single beds – I hope I can fit 2 of the guys into that double bed with me – hehehehe.
